Five at 55: No Speed Limit on Growth

There’s a line from an old 80s song that says, “I can’t drive 55.”
Back then, it felt rebellious. Limiting. Like something was being taken away.

Turns out, 55 isn’t a limit at all.

This year, I turn 55—and I can say this with clarity and confidence: I like who I am more now than at any other stage of my life.

Not because everything is perfect.
Not because the road has been easy.
But because I finally trust myself.

I trust my instincts.
I trust my experience.
And I trust the vision I’ve built—because this time, it has a plan behind it.

Confidence Looks Different Now

At 25, confidence was loud and a little rushed.
At 35, it was layered with responsibility.
At 45, it came with questions and recalibration.

At 55, confidence is quieter—but stronger.

It’s knowing what deserves your energy and what doesn’t.
It’s being comfortable saying “no” without explaining yourself.
It’s choosing progress over perfection and alignment over approval.

I don’t feel like I’m starting over.
I feel like I’m building forward—with intention.

Why “Five at 55”

As I step into this year, I’m committing to a simple rhythm—one I’ll share throughout 2026.

The power of five.

Each month, I’ll share:

  • Five things I wish I’d learned earlier

  • Five leadership habits that actually move teams forward

  • Five ideas for personal growth that don’t require burnout

  • Five practices that help create clarity, confidence, and momentum

Not theories.
Not trends.
Lessons earned the long way—through leadership, loss, growth, reinvention, and experience. And guess what, it’ll take you 5 minutes or less to listen to what I share.

This Season Feels Different

For the first time, I can clearly see where I’m going—and why.

I have a vision that excites me.
I have a plan that supports it.
And I have the confidence to trust both.

That doesn’t mean I have it all figured out.
It means I know how to figure things out.

And that might be the greatest gift experience gives us.

There is no expiration date on purpose.
No deadline on becoming who you’re meant to be.
And no speed limit on growth—unless you place one on yourself.

So this year, I’m not slowing down.
I’m leaning in.

Welcome to Five at 55.
Let’s take this journey together.
