There’s a moment many of us don’t like to admit out loud.

It’s when someone starts talking about culture or leadership
and instead of leaning in, we quietly think:

Blah. Blah. Blah.

Not because the topics don’t matter — they do.
But because we’ve heard the same words, the same phrases, and the same high-level ideas over and over again.

Trust.
Values.
Teamwork.
Engagement.

Important? Absolutely.
But sometimes they’re presented in ways that feel disconnected from real life.

From the pressure of deadlines.
From hard conversations.
From leading people who don’t always agree with you.
From trying to do the right thing — from a cubicle, a truck, a breakroom, or a home office.

And when that happens, people don’t reject leadership.
They reject how it’s being talked about.

That’s what inspired something new I’m creating called 5 for 55.

As I approach 55, I’ve been reflecting on what I’ve learned — not just professionally, but personally. Lessons that didn’t come from a textbook or a keynote stage, but from real moments: wins, failures, tough conversations, unexpected turns, and quiet realizations.

5 for 55 is built on a simple idea:
Leadership and culture don’t have to be complicated to be meaningful.

This series will share short, practical, real-world nuggets you can actually use — without needing a fancy title or a corner office.

Because leadership doesn’t only happen at the top.

It happens:
• When you manage a large team
• When you supervise one or two people
• When you influence without authority
• When you decide how you show up every day

And yes — even when you’re “just” sitting in your cubicle wondering if what you do really matters.

I’ve seen firsthand how people tune out when leadership conversations feel repetitive or theoretical. When they sound good but don’t translate into action. When they feel like something meant for other people in other roles.

5 for 55 is my answer to that disconnect.

It’s going to be:
✔ Short and easy to digest
✔ Honest and relatable
✔ Rooted in real experiences
✔ Focused on what actually works….. and arriving in February!

Some lessons will make you nod your head.
Some may challenge how you think.
A few might even make you laugh.

But every one of them is designed to give you something you can take with you — into a meeting, a conversation, a decision, or a moment where leadership really counts.

If leadership and culture conversations have started to feel like noise to you, this series is for you.

Not because those topics don’t matter —
but because they matter too much to be reduced to “blah blah blah.”
