3. Describing Current and Previous Experience

Need video.

Since you’ve built out your online profile, putting together your resume should be a breeze since you’ve already gotten the basics in place. Today we’re going to take that and use it to build you a strong resume. (You’re welcome to update your LinkedIn Profile with any of this as well. In fact, adding information or updating information is one thing that makes your profile show up more in searches and in the newsfeed.)

Today it’s all about creating the bullet points you’ll list as your accomplishments under your previous job history. One of the easiest systems you can use is the PAR Approach.

  1. What is the problem that existed in the workplace?
  2. What action did you take to solve the problem?
  3. What were the results?

Take each part and weave a complete answer. This type of statement is powerful with employers because it shows them a clear example of how you can add to their bottom line.

Here’s a couple of examples:

Transformed a disorganized warehouse into a more efficient workspace and saved the company $25,000 through decreased material orders.

Designed a mentoring program for first year employees which resulted in a 97% retention rate and improved company morale.

I’m also including an additional workbook designed specifically for building your resume. You’ll find a number of worksheets that will help you as we build out a resume designed to WOW any hiring manager.
