6. Which Format Should I Choose?

Needs video.

There are a multitude of resume formats out there online. But there are three traditionally accepted formats. Each have their own benefits and limitations. I urge you to read through today’s information in your workbook and think about which format will give you the best results.

I’m also including some worksheets to help you with the planning of your information and templates for each the chronological and functional formats. There’s also a combination format.

A combination resume lists your skills and qualifications first, then your employment history is listed next, in reverse chronological order (beginning with your current or most recent job and then working back through earlier positions). When you use a combination resume, you can showcase the skills you have most relevant to the job for which you’re while also providing the work history that employers have requested. It’s a great format for people with unrelated job experience and employment gaps.

I’ve attached templates of all three main types for you to use as a reference. If you have any specific questions, feel free to email or message me in our private Facebook group.
